Welcome to The Utopian Foundation, the world’s first webcomic soap opera!

OK, it’s probably not the first, but this is a serial comic strip following the intersecting lives of (mostly) young people living in a Southwestern U.S. city who are all connected by their relationship to–or influence of–”The Utopian,” the idyllic alter-ego of James Douglas, who gave his life fighting to end corruption and what he perceived as “evil” at Sagebrush High School. James’ exploits were documented in the predecessor to this comic, simply titled The Utopian, which ran from April 2009 to October 2010. You can buy print collections of the first volume; however, no previous knowledge of the series is required to enjoy the new series. But it wouldn’t hurt. 🙂

The Utopian: Foundation is entirely written, drawn, colored and lettered by Pj Perez. That’s me, and it’s weird typing in the third person, so please don’t make me do so. The comic was updated twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays when it launched in April 2012. Due to some technical and personal difficulties, the webcomic went on a long hiatus and then disappeared from the web, but now we’re back with new strips nearly every Monday.

You might want to familiarize yourself with the ever-expanding cast of The Utopian: Foundation, and then dig in from the beginning. There’s a “random” button on the site, but that’s going to drop you into the middle of a story line … which can be fun, I guess?
