So, part of me doesn’t want Danielle’s allegations to be true, because, well, I like Mr. Anderson.
But part of me wants them to be true, because I don’t like writing a scenario in which a young female falsely accuses someone of sexual assault.
All of me, however, wants my characters to be true to themselves and my story to play out the way those characters would actually behave and interact.
I guess all I can say is stick around.
The question is this: if Danielle accuses Mr Anderson, does she believe that it means that attention will be taken off of her and her doings, her attempts to undermine the Foundation? If so, then that would *definitely* be true to her character. (She’s already shown her willingness to cause trouble by sowing the seeds of lies and false allegations.)
Would Mr Anderson actually attempt to make sexual advances toward a student? It doesn’t square with what we’ve seen of him, but we also don’t see everything.
That said, though, we’ve also got a lot of writing tropes to look at, including the concept of Chekhov’s Gun… the willingness of Danielle to sow discord and lies is potentially such a device that must go off before the end of the play.
