Nothing new to add here I didn’t say a few years ago:
If any of y’all read the first volume of The Utopian, you’d know that Nate Aguila was a very different character, and that this strong-but-sensitive take might feel a bit “off.” But I think the original portrayal of Nate as the “abusive jock” was a bit one-note, hence why through the course of the first series, I tried to “evolve” him, showing that a) his rage was the result of a chemical imbalance and b) he fiercely cared for his family, to the point of almost getting killed trying to avenge his brother’s hospitalization.
So, what I’m saying is, it makes sense that, given the events of his last year of high school, is now a more mature person in his first year of college. Because life, y’all.
